CargoTech Capital is a private equity fund focused on data and operations technology for shipping, logistics and international trade. We partner with founders who have built proprietary platforms, and we grow our ownership in stages, so the people who created the business stay aligned as it moves to its next phase.

Investment philosophy

  1. Sector focus

    We invest in data and operations technology for shipping, logistics and resources: the software and systems that plan, track and run the physical movement of goods and materials. We stay within these sectors because that is where we know the customers, the operations and the risks.

  2. Platform, not just projects

    We look for companies that own their technology. A proprietary platform with a clear path to recurring revenue can grow beyond its next contract; a business built on one-off projects usually cannot. We back the first.

  3. African base, global corridors

    We focus on companies that deliver to clients in Africa or operate from there, and that connect to markets in the UK, Asia and the Gulf. We see these trade corridors as an underserved opportunity for technology.

  4. Staged partnerships

    We start with shared ownership and move to full ownership over time. Founders stay aligned through the transition, so the knowledge and relationships that built the company carry into its next stage.
